"They Fly Through the Water", public art installation by Sonia Romero, commissioned by the Los Angeles County Arts Commission, 2014. Over 4000 hand painted and silkscreened tiles, made by the artist. Artist created paper cut renderings of local community members swimming underwater, which were translated into large scale laser cut steel figures. Figures suspended an inch and a half from surface of tiles.
